Giant hands rise from the water in Venice to draw attention to climate change

Contemporary artist Lorenzo Quinn has unveiled a new monumental sculpture of two white hands rising out of the Grand Canal at the Ca’ Sagredo Hotel in Venice, as part of the Venice Biennale 2017.

The hands symbolise both the creative and the destructive. As humans we have the ability to destroy our world as well as the capacity to save it. Quinn hopes the installation, entitled Support, will address the ability for humans to make a change and re-balance the world around them – environmentally, economically and socially.
